Bronze, inscribed omphalos-bowl (bowl with the symbol of omphalos on bottom) [Μ 385]
Bronze, inscribed omphalos-bowl with shallow hemispherical body and rim thickened at the edge. Conical omphalos (sacred symbol ascribed with a protruding knob) at the center of the bottom. Under the rim incised decoration with running spirals. On body Linear A inscription. This is the only known example of a bronze omphalos-bowl with a Linear A inscription and possibly comes from Egypt. The bowl’s find spot has been reported to be at Kofinas peak sanctuary in south-central Crete.
