Description

This is a unique and excellent sword made of ivory, bronze and gold. The sword has a long blade and a long handle with two projecting handle guards, all made of the same piece of metal. The long blade has a strengthening rib along its entire length. The pommel is made of ivory and bears a gold two headed rivet. The handle had originally a wooden casing attached with four two headed rivets. This unique find reflect its owners important place within the Late Bronze age local society.
