Terracotta hydriaphoros [Π 8894]
This exhibit shows a standing female figure carrying a hydria (water jar), or vessel designed for carrying water attached at the top of her head. Mould-formed body; the back is hand- made. This find comes from the open-air sanctuary of Demeter and her Kore at Castello, Vryses. Dated to the end of 5th or the beginning of the 4th century BC.
