Kalathos (basket-shaped bowl) [Π 8391]
Cylindrical, deep basket-shaped bowl (kalathos); flat base, splaying rim and two horizontal, high, strap handles. Decorated with groups of engraved thin bands under the rim, in the middle of body and base; two lines are engraved on the interior under the rim. Also decorated with orange-reddish paint; broad bands divide the body in three sections filled with J-spirals, linked running S-spirals and crooked N-shaped lines. It dates in the second half of the Late Minoan I (1500-1450 BC).
